Childhood summers to me bring up memories of a playful tug-of-war between the warm, nurturing rays of the sun and the wet, rejuvenating shower of quick sudden rains. And then there’s the quiet rhythm of swaying trees, their branches lush and verdant with invitation for another magical playtime with nature. We would run, climb, eat, and while away our precious time…freely and endlessly.
Puerto Princesa brought me back to that carefree child, her welcoming embrace unexpected and without pretense. I am her son after all.
